MOULDEX Synthetic Bone Ash
 Mold dressing material specially designed for the casting of non ferrous metals.

MOULDEX is a very fine grained homogeneous powder which is mainly used as release agent during the casting of non ferrous metals, obtaining a smooth surface for the molded shape. Its use also protect the molds and increase their useful life.

Its formulation is based on Synthetic Bone Ash and helps in the formation of a thin and uniform film with a very high adhesion to the surface of the mold.

MOULDEX possesses a series of characteristics that are fundamental to obtain the finishing qualities required and to assure the chemical purity of the metal.

Possess a high resistance to the thermal impact, therefore acts as an effective insulation, protecting the mold and permitting and adequate release action.

The superior quality of MOULDEX is attributed to the fine internal structure of their individual particles which resemble the bony cellular structure.

Acts as lubricant, permitting a uniform runoff of the molten metal, avoiding losses of temperature and increases in viscosity that result in pieces of inferior quality.

Due to its very fine grain the coating film is firmly adhered, avoiding agglomerations that could originate hollows in the surface of the molded shape.

MOULDEX is a totally inert product. There are no possibilities to form oxides, carbonates and silicates that would degrade the quality of the metal through contamination.

High purity inorganic chemicals are used in the manufacture of MOULDEX . For this reason , when in contact with the molten metal, there are no carbon compounds that would release reducing gases. Consequently, no bubbles are produced in the surface of the molded shape and no residues are left that could form inclusions.

In aqueous suspension, MOULDEX has a very low sedimentation speed, facilitating the dispersion of the product and allowing a more uniform application.

Viscosity tests of water slurries indicate that MOULDEX has outstanding ability to form a structure. This improved structure makes it feasible to use less material in a slurry to give adequate protection to the mold.

MOULDEX is very appropriate for copper mould fabrication. It gives finished moulds a very smooth surface, free of holes or cracks, largely improving mould life expectancy.

Yield

For the casting of copper anodes, experience shows that the consumption of MOULDEXis between 0.25to 0.3Kg. per each molded metric Ton.

This yield arises when you keep the concentration of the coating suspension between 3.5 to 4.5 Baumé.
