ALUMINIUM COATING

APC - Natural Bone Ash - Aluminium Protective Coating

Fine grained homogeneous powder , obtained by careful calcination of animal bones, which is used in aluminum industry as a protective coating.
Very appropriate for use in direct chill casting of ingots and billets.
Could be applied on ladles, launders, troughs, tundishes , filter boxes and vessels, inhibiting sticking of metal to them.
Another common use is to protect all metal equipment and tools exposed to molten metal and in floor areas around mold stations, furnaces and ladles.

Improves the casting quality due to:

APC unique characteristics:

High thermal stability

• Low weight loss up to 1480 ºC ( 2700 ºF )

Excellent coating

• Uniform, free of runs, drips and teardrops
• Good adhesion to metal
• Prevents mold erosion

Easy to Use

• Available as powder
• Easy mixing with water
• Easy to wash off

Application versatility

• Applicable by spray gun or brush
• Compatible with refractory based coatings.

  • Safety Information
The products are carefully packaged in sealed polyethylene bags contained in 100 Kg. fiberdrums. These drums are in turn palletized and shipped.

Other forms of packaging such us 25 Kg or 50 Kg polypropylene bags with polyethylene lining are available on request.
A very strict quality control procedure is followed during the manufacturing stages. It starts by carefully preparing and selecting the raw materials and continues through the monitoring of the calcination curves.

Quality and quantity of additives are controlled and a strict checking of chemical composition and physical properties is done.
• These products are not classified as hazardous materials by U.S. D.O.T.

• They are absolutely inert and innocuous for human health. Its handling is safe.

• They are non combustible and chemically stable under fire.

• Care must be taken in order to work in a well ventilated area or to use dust mask.

• Avoid contact with acid. Bone Ash based products are soluble at pH under 5.5
